Cooking
I love cooking dinner for my boys. After the Big D I started cooking. X used to ‘cook’ ie. boil chicken, boil the vitamins out of veggies, and boil rice. Technically the food was edible. Technically.
But since he left I’ve been in charge of the food in the house. It’s been an interesting budgetary challenge, a great challenge to change my behavior (I have to actually eat the leftovers now that I know how much I paid for the Whole Foods groceries), and a great challenge to find foods that are tasty that my sweet 7 will eat. He isn’t so picky - no tomatoes, rice instead of pasta, veggies but no salad - but he is still a little kid.
Boyfriend has been great about being patient as I’ve tried new things on Date Night. I’ve gotten crazy creative a couple of times and it was totally fun!
Tonight is just breaded baked chicken on diced tomatoes (oops), Parm & oregano sprinkled on top, mushrooms swimming in the tomatoes. Probably need to add more cheese on top of 7’s just to distract him from the plate of red tomatoes and the bowtie pasta that it’s all sitting on.
Wish me luck.
